Healthcare Emergency Management Position (Full-time)
ORGANIZATION

America's leading healthcare consulting firms. The firm, headquartered
in Fairport, NY with offices in Plainville, CT and Elk Grove, CA,
provides fire, emergency management and life safety code compliance
services exclusively to a healthcare client base of more than 1,300
facilities in 42 states and Canada. The firm offers assessments,
plan customization, training services and exercises in the areas
of Fire and Evacuation, Joint Commission Statement of Conditions,
Life Safety Code surveys and Emergency Management. Russell Phillips
& Associates has been involved in everything from the healthcare
facility reviews post Hurricane Katrina to the analysis of staff
performance in multiple fatality healthcare fires.
POSITION OVERVIEW
By working for Russell Phillips & Associates in Emergency Management,
you will be tasked with conducting on-site facility surveys, customization
of Emergency Operations Plans and Procedures, providing specialized
trainings (customized ICS training and evacuation training, etc.),
and working in conjunction with local, regional, state and federal
agencies. One growing component to the business is regional and
statewide healthcare evacuation and patient relocation plan design
along with comprehensive training/drills under realistic emergency
conditions.
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
The successful candidates will:
- Exhibit a strong, self motivated work ethic;
- Possess effective communication skills at all organizational
levels;
- Demonstrate the ability to translate codes and standards into
practical processes;
- Possess a strong knowledge of The Joint Commission (formerly
JCAHO) Emergency Management standards.
- Excel at public speaking engagements with clear and concise
messages.
- Exceptional interpersonal and written-communication skills
are critical
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires regional and national travel. A bachelor's
degree in fire protection, fire science, safety, emergency management
or related degree is preferred. An associates degree coupled with
experience will be considered. Preference will be applied to individuals
with experience in public speaking, training, and working knowledge
in the healthcare industry. Healthcare consulting/operations experience
along with a fire service background is highly preferred.
