Vanderbilt University is located in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, and is one of the nation's leading research and teaching institutions. We are looking for a Disaster Recovery Administrator to work on our team.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 48 months of Disaster Recovery related experience. DR/BCP certifications (e.g. ABCP, CBCP, MBCP, etc) and experience working in a healthcare field preferred. Additional professional experience may be substituted for education.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Disaster Recovery Administrator will be integral to the team which is responsible for the reliability, performance, recoverability, administration and maintenance of the IT infrastructure.
  • The DR Administrator will coordinate the development of advance arrangements and procedures to ensure the organization can respond to a disaster so the critical business functions can be resumed within a defined time frame, the amount of loss can be minimized, and any stricken facilities can be repaired or replaced as quickly as possible.
  • The DRA will also design, develop, maintain, and test the overall disaster recovery plans for software and hardware for each critical functional area of the organization. These disaster recovery plans must address three major elements of the recovery process:

    1. The Emergency Response organization and procedures for reacting to and coordinating recovery efforts.
    2. The Recovery Support procedures for restoring key organization resources.
    3. The Business Resumption procedures.

  • Additionally the position will be on an"On Call" rotation with other team members. There will be occasional "after hours" attendance for DR Testing and Incident Response drills.
